General anaesthesia
It is possible to use a general anaesthetic if the patient would prefer to be unconscious during the dental procedure. In order for the Abroad Dentist to consider this option, the patient must be under the age of 40 with no history of medical complaints. The Abroad Dentist will carry out a laboratory analysis of the patient’s blood sugar level, liver and kidney function. If you are over 40, then you will need a complete check up which usually takes an hour or two.
A general anaesthetic is not appropriate in all cases, for example some procedures are painless and in others the patient’s cooperation is required.
